Zombies vs. Robots: Pammi Shaw: Creator of Gods and Also Blogger
By Brea Grant
Kindle
IDW Publishing
Release Date: January 18, 2012

The Zombies Vs. Robots comics were one of the first big hits for IDW Publishing. Naturally, they continued the story with mores miniseries with Zombies vs. Robots vs. Amazons, and then Zombies vs. Robots Aventure and ZvR: UnderCity. In UnderCity, the character of Pammi Shaw is introduced. She is also the “author” of the blog entries that comprise this short story, Zombies vs. Robots: Pammi Shaw: Creator of Gods and Also Blogger.

Even in the midst of the war between the zombies and the robots, Pammi constantly updates her blog and shares stories with any human survivors that may be out there. Pammi talks about how she came to UnderCity, what happened after she came, and what she does to survive. Also, we learn that she creates an artificial intelligence named System, who interacts with her and tries to prepare her for any future zombie attacks.

This short story was very interesting. Brea Grant writes very believable dialogue. I only knew her as an actress from the TV shows Heroes (as Daphne Millbrook) and Friday Night Lights (as Jean Binnel). I know she wrote a zombie series entitled We Will Bury You, but I have never read it. I definitely have to check it out now.

Pammi Shaw is a clever way to expand on the ZvR universe, and more prose and novellas will be coming out soon. Pammi Shaw’s story was an interesting read. Even someone like myself that has never read any books in the ZvR universe can easily understand this book. I definitely plan to track down the other ZvR graphic novels and stories. I hope the other ZvR prose will be as equally interesting as Pammi Shaw’s blog entries.

Zombies vs. Robots: Pammi Shaw: Creator of Gods and Also Blogger is only $.99 for the Kindle, and is one of eight original Zombies vs. Robots short stories being released by IDW in the coming weeks.
