‘Insidious’ Is Getting A Sequel
  |

If there was one movie of 2011 that absolutely kicked my ass as both a film and a surprise, it was Insidious.

Probably the biggest shock of last year’s SXSW Film Festival, Insidious was helmed by James Wan and penned by Leigh Whannell, best known for the Saw franchise, and was a brilliant little gem of a haunted house thriller.  And now, according to THR, it appears as though we’ll be heading back into that world.

The film did admittedly leave off on a note that could lead rather perfectly into a sequel, and with a cast including both Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, the setup is there for something really interesting.  So while the idea of a sequel is a bit odd, the makings for a great film are indeed there.  We may not get a brilliant movie, but if its half as scary as the first one, then count this writer the hell in.
