With The Hunger Games nearing its debut in just a few short weeks, a new trailer has finally hit, and I must say, it’s kind of looking interesting. Watch it here below.
The film stars the impeccable Jennifer Lawrence, and is obviously based on the beloved Suzanne Collins book series, and the trailer will both air during this weekend’s Super Bowl extravaganza and will also hit theaters this weekend.
Directed by Gary Ross, the movie has great potential to spawn one hell of a new film franchise, yet I find myself still quite cold on the entire thing. The cast and crew here are really great, and the premise itself has everything that this Battle Royale-type film fan could ever want, but the Twilight comparisons make this all seem like something far lighter than it appears. That is a completely unfounded bit of criticism, so hopefully I’m wrong. Here’s to hoping that I am.
Don’t get the Twilight comparisons get to you. It might not be as shocking as the stuff in BR, but the HG trilogy is by no means soft.
The last book in particular left a significant number of people depressed because the author doesn’t coddle her audience in the usual way YA books might.
They might not be as brutal as similar books written for adults, but to say the books are fluffy or light would be completely unfair and inaccurate.
omg, I cannot WAIT for this movie to come out. Â Each time I see a trailer or find a new still, I get more excited. Â Looks like they found the right team of writers, actors, and directors for this!!!

This has nothing, NOTHING to do with Twitlight!
I don’t know who’s making comparisons to it, but they’re so wrong.
This trailer looks pretty spot onto the books, so it should be amazing!
