Just four episodes into season two of Syfy Channel’s “original” series Being Human the network has renewed the series for a third season of 13 episodes.

Viewership for the second season has increased by an impressive +27% in Adults 18-49, +35% in Adults 25-54, and +15% in total viewers; 52% of the viewers are female making Being Human the most female skewing series ever on the network.

The season two premiere brought in a total of 2.4 million viewers which is up 3% from the season one premiere. So yes the show is a hit on the network so no shocker that they are bringing it back. I put the word original in quotes because technically the show is a remake of a British series. Of course this version does deviate a good bit from the original.

“With the success of season two, “˜Being Human’ has become a premiere destination for Syfy viewers,” said Mark Stern President of Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head of Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. “Jeremy Carver and Anna Fricke (producers) have taken this series to new heights this year and we’re excited to see where the third season will go.”

Being Human stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath, and Sam Huntington as vampire Aidan, ghost Sally, and werewolf Josh, respectively, who share a home in a Boston brownstone. Together the three roommates struggle to keep their secrets and fight individual temptations as they strive to exist as normal humans.
