Watch The ‘11.22.63’ Trailer With James Franco!
  |  @   |

Hulu has released another official trailer for 11.22.63, an 8-part miniseries based on the Stephen King novel (11/22/63), set to air February 15th, 2016 (appropriately so on President’s Day). Given the success of previous King-based miniseries such as The Stand and It, and that it has the people-who-rule-the-universe trifecta of J.J. Abrams, Stephen King, and James Franco, fans are in for a treat.

Check out that trailer and the other two previously released teaser trailers below.

Franco stars as Jake Epping, a high school teacher, who is tasked by his friend Al (Chris Cooper) to take on his time traveling cause. Time travel? Yes, his diner has a portal to 1960 (1958 in the novel). The cause? Prevent the assassination of JFK in Dallas in 1963. The catch? I mean, besides the obvious going back in time and living a couple of years in the 1960s. The catch is that no matter how much time you spend in the past, only 2-minutes passes in the present, which is why Al seems so aged to him. Also, the portal always takes you back to the exact same time, effectively resetting any changes one might have made. Crazy, huh?

What’s crazier is that it pulls in the conspiracy theories. Al isn’t sure Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, so he wants Jake to be sure. Jake has to get to know Oswald before removing him from the equation. And as with all time travel, the butterfly effect is far reaching.

The trailer looks like they have captured the essence of the 1960s through the costumes and sets, the desperate drama of preventing one of the biggest tragedies of our nation, and the creepiness of Stephen King (example – Creepshow-ish roaches).

The series also stars Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Cherry Jones, Sarah Gadon, George MacKay, Lucy Fry, and Daniel Webber.

I’m really excited to see how this New York Times best-selling novel translates to the small screen. Of course there will naturally be some changes, and I look forward to the comparative analysis.

11.22.63 airs February 15th, 2016 on Hulu.
