Max Landis Set To Write ‘Chronicle 2’

When you make a movie for $12 million and it goes on to score over $105 million worldwide (and counting) at the box office, you’re going to make a sequel to that movie. Every time.

Such is the case with Chronicle, the found footage movie about a trio of friends who gain superpowers, the often humorous learning curve that comes with mastering said powers, and the eventual abuse of power that gets them into trouble.

The movie was written by Max Landis (yes, son of John), who’s now been set to work on the screenplay for Chronicle 2.

Nothing else is known yet about returning/new stars, where the story will head, or when we might see the sequel.

It’s not clear whether Josh Trank, who directed the first movie, will be returning for the sequel or not. Trank has become a hot commodity, getting attention for the planned Fantastic Four reboot and now currently in talks to direct the Spider-Man spinoff Venom for Sony.
