AMC Theaters announced Monday that the theater chain would be hosting a Marvel movie marathon at 10 different locations across the United States on May 3 in anticipation for The Avengers on May 4.
AMC is doing something really cool with this. Leading up until the midnight showing of The Avengers, AMC is showing Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, AND The Avengers in that order, so that fans of the Marvel movies can witness all of the pre-Avengers saga. The price of admission is $40, which isn’t too bad considering the fact that each money averages to about seven dollars a ticket. That’s a pretty good deal, especially considering you get free 3D shades for 3D presentations of some of the movies. Now you just have to have that day open, and you’re good!
Now, let’s get to the depressing news. A lot of us are not going to participate in this awesome movie marathon, so we need to go ahead and get that out of our heads. Like me, for example: I live in Tennessee and there is likely no way I can get to a random AMC theater somewhere in the country to participate in the awesome, so I have to assume that a lot of you are also going to be upset that somewhere like Carmike isn’t doing this. So, get prepared because we’re about to talk about the cities that will be lucky enough to participate in this totally rad event. Ready?
Boston Common 19 Boston, MA
Burbank 16 Burbank, CA
Downtown Disney 12 Anaheim, CA
Aventura 24 Aventura, FL
Empire 25 New York, NY
Garden State 16 Paramus, NJ
Downtown Disney 24 Lake Buena Vista, FL
Metreon 16 San Francisco, CA
Alderwood 16 Lynnwood, WA
Tysons Corner 16 McLean, VA
So that sucks for a lot of us, right? It sucks for me. But wait, because there’s more news to this! You see, on March 16 if you just come back here, you’ll see even more locations announced that will be participating in the Marvel movie marathon. So, while this news maybe disheartening, maybe Friday’s news will provide more enjoyment for you. Awesome? Awesome.
Also released alongside this news was a pretty cool one sheet that advertises the May 3 event. Check it out here below!
