Earlier today a viral marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises hit the web. All around the world, chalk markings of bats were left for fans to photograph and catalog. With each new photograph, a new frame of the trailer was revealed at TDKR07202012.com.
Well kids, the final chalk marking was found, the final frame set in place. As a reward for completing the viral campaign, Warner Bros. Pictures has released a brand new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan‘s Dark Knight legend.
Watch it here below!
I’ve got goosebumps after watching this. This trailer is simply stunning – the mixture of music and moving image has created a haunting yet beautiful look at what promises to be a dark, harrowing conclusion to Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
The trailer shows more footage of Bane (Tom Hardy), Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s character, John Blake. I’ll let the trailer speak for itself, but my favorite moments include Bane announcing himself as “Gotham’s Reckoning” and Catwoman’s pitch-perfect line, “My mother warned me about getting into cars with strange men,” to which Batman replies, “This isn’t a car.” Cue the Batwing flying through the streets of Gotham!
Catwoman also points out Batman’s sacrifice to the city: “You’ve given them everything.” Batman, out of breath and obviously in pain quietly answers, “Not everything. Not yet.”
Will Batman lay down his life and make the ultimate sacrifice for Gotham? Find out July 20th when The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters!
