Doom Digest

Every day here at Doom HQ we receive tons of tips from our readers about really cool stuff from the world of geek, as well as promotional materials for new films, comic books, collectibles, and much more. While we do our best to bring you as much of it as possible, we don’t always have enough geek manpower available to cover it all on a daily basis. But we hate the idea of all of this really cool stuff wasting away in our inbox. How could we NOT cover it? Hence why we’ve resurrected our long-defunct column Bits Of Doom, now rebranded and revamped as Doom Digest, a collection of easily digestible bits of news, videos, photos, and other goodies.

Today: Promo for a would-be 1978 Avengers made-for-TV movie, a new Chooseomatic book Thrusts of Justice, a superhero montage, a 3-minute “Vampire” featurette for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, and a Leslie Knope (Parks and Recreation) poster, plus some Bits Of Doom.

The Avengers ’78 movie promo

Yeah, this is pretty much the best video you’ll watch all day. This is a trailer for what an Avengers movie would be like if it was a made-for-TV movie in 1978. Looks of great classic superhero clips, and even some scenes from KISS Meets The Phantom of the Park.

Chooseomatic Book #2 – Thrusts of Justice

Thrusts of Justice, a new Chooseomatic book from Matt Youngmark (author of Zombocalypse Now) is out now in Paperback for $10 and for the Kindle for $3.99. This is a choose your own adventure with where you are one of three super-powered heroes and there are 90 possible endings, 81 of which supposedly result in your humiliating death. Read more about the book at the official site.

Dark Shadows – Vampire Featurette

Check out this new 3-minute “Vampire” featurette for Tim Burton’s upcoming Dark Shadows.

Leslie Knope – Don’t Tell Her What To Do

Back in February, former Saturday Night live cast member Amy Poehler returned to SNL for a guest appearance on Weekend Update with Seth Meyers for a new segment of Really!?! With Seth and Amy. In it, they took on the Birth Control debate, and at the end, Poehler yelled “Don’t tell me what do it!” Now, there’s some artwork circulating of Poehler as her Leslie Knope character from NBC’s Parks and Recreation stating “Don’t tell me what to do!” in an Uncle Sam Wants You type of poster. (On the NBC sitcom, Knope is running for City Council.)

Superhero Montage

In nearly 5 minutes, this video manages to show a ton of superhero movies and television shows, including lots of Batman and much more. It’s an epic montage!
