Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Ted’ Moves In June Slot Left Behind By ‘G.I. Joe’ Sequel
  |  @   |

Yesterday’s news that Paramount Pictures would reschedule G.I. Joe: Retaliation from this June to March 29, 2013 came completely out of left field. Word is that the studio wants to implement new 3D effects, but some speculate that the studio isn’t happy with the film. Now, Universal is taking advantage of the vacant spot by rescheduling a movie of its own. Coming Soon reports that Seth MacFarlane‘s first film Ted will now move to the June 29th slot left vacation by the G.I. Joe sequel.

Ted now shares the release date with Magic Mike, People Like Us, and Madea’s Witness Protection. So there is a bit of everything for everyone on that date. Magic Mike for the ladies, People Like Us for the older demographic, and then there’s Madea’s Witness Protection, which does good no matter what the competition is or whenever it is scheduled.

Ted was originally scheduled for a July 13th release. It moves away from being in between The Amazing Spider-Man (July 4th) and The Dark Knight Rises (July 20th).

I’ve always wanted to see Ted, even though the film looks like a live-action version of Family Guy, but I love the idea of a grown man talking to his childhood teddy bear.

Ted stars Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, Giovanni Ribisi, and Seth MacFarlane as Ted.
