In case you’re somehow not yet aware, Marvel’s superhero blockbuster The Avengers is kind of a big deal.

The movie shattered the opening weekend domestic record on its way to joining the $1 billion club, and now it’s heading where it hasn’t yet dominated: space.

Marvel Studios has announced that they have spoken with NASA and set up a screening of the movie for the crew of the International Space Station, 220 miles above our planet. The movie will be transferred to NASA’s Mission Control in Houston, who will then uplink it to the Space Station for their viewing pleasure.

Marvel was allowed to film scenes of The Avengers at the Space Power Facility at NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Ohio, and this is a continuation of that collaboration.

Of the announcement, Co-President of Marvel Studios Louis D’Esposito said:

Dan Cook, a psychological support coordinator who works with NASA, added that “These are the types of things that help to keep the crew connected to home, which is a huge morale boost while being away for long periods of time.”
