E3 2012: First Look At ‘The Elder Scrolls Online’ Environments
  |  @   |

I’ve never had any interest in MMOs. None whatsoever. Not until The Elder Scrolls Online was announced, of course.

But in order to really win my undivided attention, so much would rely on the first look at actual Elder Scrolls Online gameplay and the world they’ve built. That day has now arrived…partially. A video showing a bunch of impressive shots of many different environments from the game were shown at E3, joined by plenty of juicy details about what you can expect. And while I’m still personally skeptical that the game can be as amazing as it sounds like it could be, the environments really do look great and there’s hope that the gameplay will be equally impressive. Fans of The Elder Scrolls and MMOs alike will surely be keeping their eyes on this one.

Be sure to head below to get your first lengthy peek at the upcoming Elder Scrolls MMO, currently aiming for release in 2013.

The games of Bethesda Softworks decorate my top favorites list, especially when it comes to the wonderfully fantastical Elder Scrolls universe. So, despite said distaste for the MMO, my interest is indeed piqued by this new venture. Even so, it’s hard to imagine that Zenimax Studios will be able to take the Elder Scrolls universe, expand it into an MMO, and still retain the qualities that make games like Oblivion and Skyrim tower over so many others.

Will you the MMO players of the world be playing The Elder Scrolls Online? Or are you happy with your current MMO?

  1. Without the ability to import player-created items, quests, armor and skins what is the point?  it’s just the same crappy bland environments and purposless quests as any other MMO.  Pass.
