Christopher Nolan Says He Won’t Direct A Sequel To ‘The Dark Knight Rises’
  |  @   |

It goes without saying that if you are the director of a big blockbuster movie like The Dark Knight Rises, you will probably come across sequel questions during your press rounds. So even though you have stressed, constantly said, and swore that you would never ever continue your Batman franchise for a fourth film, there are those who pester Christopher Nolan with that question. Well, Nolan is saying that he will not, in fact, go on for a fourth film.

While at the Produced by Conference, Nolan responded to the question of doing a forth film with a “No.” He backed up that “no” with the following quote…

“Mainly, because I’m superstitious, but I said to my brother [and sometimes-writing-partner Jonah Nolan] that I didn’t want to save anything. We’re never on a specific trajectory, but I always viewed Bruce Wayne’s story in three parts. I didn’t want to hold anything back,” Nolan explained. “I think you learn so much from the audience. You don’t know what you’ve made until you’ve put it out there.”

Well it’s understandable why he would end on a high note. Based on the trailers we have seen so far, The Dark Knight Rises is the largest and perhaps the most expansive of Nolan’s three Batman films.

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters on July 20th.
