A bit disappointed by the absence of any real discussion about Grant Morrison’s NXM tenure, due to one participant not having completed the reading. There’s so much to dive into, with the brilliance of the Weapon Plus Program as a sanctioned superhero team, with the forms each Weapon is presented in, the prevalence of telepathy and the use of decapitation as a motif, the removal of Xavier’s and Magneto’s agendas by Cassandra Nova and the identity of Weapon 11, the introduction of popular mutant culture, X-Men as selfish protagonists as opposed to the flag-waving philosophers, X-Corp preceding Batman Inc, and the school actually becoming a school for the first time.
