Batman and Superman To Save The Day In WB’s ‘Lego: The Piece Of Resistance’
  |  @   |

It may not be the Justice League movie we’ve been waiting for, but it’s sure as hell close enough to being one. Batman and Superman, two iconic DC comic characters that have been the face of superhero movies, will now be appearing in Warner Bros. upcoming 3D Lego movie, Lego: The Piece of Resistance, which will fuse together live-action and “Lego-based animation.”

The film is to be directed by Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street helmers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Chris McKay will co-direct.

Variety reports that Will Arnett and Channing Tatum have been approached to voice Lego Batman and Lego Superman respectively. Chris Pratt has signed on to play as Emmet.

Here’s how the trade describes Emmet:

An ordinary, law-abiding, Lego mini-figure who is mistaken for the most extraordinary MasterBuilder. He’s drafted into a fellowship of strangers on a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together.

What once seemed like a joke of a movie has become an interesting project. The voice cast sounds promising and definitely shows they’re giving offers to the right people for a movie like this. The additions of Batman and Superman makes the film even more enticing to watch.

Lego and WB have partnered for several years producing Batman toys and videogames, and will launch a new set of playthings around “The Dark Knight Rises” through the Lego Batman collection. “Lego Batman: The Videogame,” published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has sold more than 12 million units since 2008.

Warner Bros. has scheduled Lego: The Piece of Resistance for a February 28th, 2014 release.
