Three Striking IMAX Posters For ‘The Dark Knight Rises’
  |  @   |

If a film is going to be presented in IMAX, it’s almost a guarantee that their will be a free poster handed out the night of the midnight release. From Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol to John Carter to Prometheus and most recently to The Amazing Spider-Man. They create these posters for the masses and there is more then plenty for everyone. Now with The Dark Knight Rises just a few weeks away from release, there will be three new posters for the film. Yes three.

Check them out below.

A common gripe with some of these posters is that, while they are good, they don’t exactly hold a candle to most pieces that an organization like Mondo releases. I have a couple of these IMAX posters, not these ones in particular, and while they are framed, it just doesn’t seem as cool as the other ones that hang on my wall.

These posters have some sort of iconic imagery associated with the word rise. Batman rises from his fall, Bane rises to create chaos, etc. So while these posters are respectable, they in no way are something that I go out to run to get to.

But what do you think, are these posters great or do they lack something?

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters and in IMAX on July 20, 2012.
