Channing Tatum Says ‘Magic Mike 2’ In The Works; Will Produce & Star In Evel Knievel Bipoic

Channing Tatum has been a very busy man this year. He’s been pushing films for The Vow and 21 Jump Street, and would have been doing so for G.I. Joe: Redemption had it not been for Paramount’s rescheduling. Now with Magic Mike out of the way, Tatum is talking about a sequel.

In an interview with Glamour UK, Tatum responded to the question about the possibility of a Magic Mike 2 with a resounding, “Yes, yes, and yes! We’re working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger.”

Just because it’s an R-rated film about male strippers doesn’t mean it’s all that bad. Magic Mike has grossed $75 million, and that might be the kind of number that makes WB want to put a sequel into production. Of course the down side about all of this is what story is there left to tell? Can a Magic Mike sequel do more than just tell a story about male dancers with a dream?

But that isn’t the only thing that Tatum is working on. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tatum is now set to star in and produce a film about daredevil legend Evel Knievel. The Social Network co-producers Mike DeLuca and Dana Brunetti will also be on hand to help with production of the film.

Reid Carolin will be adapting the screenplay based on the 2008 book Life of Evel by Stuart Barker.

So what do you think about Tatum’s progression as an actor and as a producer?
