Top Shelf and Comixology have teamed up to provide special deal to honor San Diego Comic-Con while also giving a nice gift to those of us who couldn’t make it to San Diego this weekend with new releases and a half off sale.
Now, I’m not going to sit here and give you a bunch of examples of things you should read and things you shouldn’t, because honestly Top Shelf books range in audience style. There are comics for adults that aren’t good for kids and there are books for little kids that aren’t going to be enjoyed by a lot of adults. And while not all of these comics are for everyone, there is something here for anyone.
The Jeff Lemire Top Shelf books like Essex County and the brand new Underwater Welder are books that any fan of his DC or Vertigo work must absolutely read. There are also great adult oriented comics like Wizzywig, Lovely Horrible Stuff, The Surrogates, Harvey Pekar’s Cleveland and so much more. Plus, there are also great kids’ books like OWLY and Johnny Boo.
Seriously guys, the best way to get the most out of this sale from Top Shelf is to simply go to Comixology, look at the comics, and find books that look interesting to you. There are great deals on each one of these comics and they’re sold as complete stories as opposed to a handful of single issues. I’m not joking, check this sale out, you’ll get your money’s worth.
Unfortunately, this sale doesn’t last forever, but it does, however, last for four more days. So get over there, take your time, and find something that you’ll love. That’s usually how Top Shelf works.
