New Photos For Dan Bradley’s ‘Red Dawn’ Reboot
  |  @   |

Before MGM fell into financial hardship, they were to release a multitude of films: Skyfall, Cabin in the Woods, The Hobbit (which was to be directed by Guillermo del Toro at the time), and Red Dawn. But now that MGM is on the straightened financial arrow and have found distributors to help them with their films, all four are to be released this year. However, we haven’t seen too much from the Red Dawn camp.

Well a few new photos have appeared online, reminding us that the film is coming in for its scheduled November release. These photos (which you can check out below) could just be a tease of what is to come in a few days. Maybe FilmDistrict will release the first trailer or a handful of new photos, but my guess is that the film’s first trailer will appear online sometime in the near future.

These two new photos feature Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, and Josh Peck armed and ready for battle against the North Koreans. The film was previously set for a group of teens to fight of against an invading Chinese military. But of course with China being one of the most important countries, singling them out would hurt the film’s box office returns. So the reboot has been modified for the teens to fight off an enemy with a much weaker economy, North Korea.

The original 1984 film starred Charlie Sheen, Patrick Swayze, and C. Thomas Howell as the American force defending their territory against the Soviet Union.

Now the photos for the reboot doesn’t say too much. The one of Hemsworth firing his weapon looks like one of those typical movie stills, while the other looks like a promotional photo of Hemsworth, Hutcherson, and Peck glaring into the camera lens.

Keep in mind that this film has been sitting on the shelf for almost four years now. Some of the actors have gone on to do bigger and better things since the film was completed. Hutcherson is just one of the lead stars of The Hunger Games and Hemsworth is the Asgardian demi-god Thor, who just so happens to be an Avenger as well.

USA Today unveiled these photos.

Director Dan Bradley‘s reboot of Red Dawn opens in theaters on November 21.
