Sacha Baron Cohen Takes Aim At Spoofing James Bond
  |  @   |

Recently Sacha Baron Cohen took a step away from the mockumentary genre and went forward with the raunchy political comedy The Dictator. But after spoofing rappers, journalists, and fashion experts, the comedian is putting a satire of the spy genre in his crosshairs.

A report says that Baron Cohen and Phil Johnston have successfully sold a spy comedy pitch to Paramount. No amount was disclosed, but it is said that the pitch sold for high six to low seven figures.

The film follows a James Bond-like spy forced to go on the run with his long-lost brother, a moronic soccer hooligan. It’s very likely that Baron Cohen could play the long-lost brother with some other actor, who happens to be more suave and in top physical form, taking the role of the spy. Although it would be interesting to see if Baron Cohen ends up playing the spy.

According to Variety, the untitled comedy will be in the same vein as most spy films and bear some resemblance to 007, but it won’t be completely James Bond as the rights to the Bond property belong to Eon Productions and Danjaq.

So would you like to see Sacha Baron Cohen play as the spy or the moronic soccer hooligan?
