‘Seven Psychopaths’ Trailer: 7 Troubled Characters In One Hilarious Movie
  |  @   |

Seven Psychopaths is the follow-up to Martin McDonagh‘s Academy Award winning film In Bruges (please watch the film if you haven’t yet). The first trailer for the film has appeared online and it looks nothing short of hilarious. Check it out below.

The premise is pretty simple: three people working in the dog kidnapping business (Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, and Christopher Walken) unwittingly take a dog that belongs to an emotionally unstable mob boss (Woody Harrelson). From there it is escaping the mob, trying to survive, and figuring out how to make a profit from all of this.

Martin McDonagh’s ‘Seven Psychopaths’ Trailer: 7 Troubled Characters In One Hilarious Movie

The trailer is an excellent introduction to the seven psychotic characters we will be seeing in the film and it is even a little self aware of the fact that there is a Bond girl (Olga Kuylenko) in the cast. Now mesh all of that with the dark comedy that McDonagh brought to us in In Bruges, and you got yourself another great dark comedy.

Thanks to Machinima for debuting the trailer.

Seven Psychopaths also stars Tom Waits, Zeljko Ivanek, Gabourey Sidibe, and Abbie Cornish and will open in theaters on October 12.

Here’s the official synopsis.

From Oscar-winning writer and director Martin McDonagh comes a star-studded, blood-drenched, black comedy. Marty (Colin Farrell) is a struggling writer who dreams of finishing his screenplay Seven Psychopaths. All he needs is a little focus and inspiration.

Billy (Sam Rockwell) is Marty’s best friend, an unemployed actor and part time dog thief, who wants to help Marty by any means necessary.

Hans (Christopher Walken) is Billy’s partner in crime. A religious man with a violent past. Charlie is the psychopathetic gangster whose beloved dog, Billy and Hans have just stolen. Charlie’s unpredictable, extremely violent and wouldn’t think twice about killing anyone or anything associated with the theft. Marty is going to get all the focus and inspiration he needs, just as long as he lives to tell the tale.
