Original Voice Of Agent 47 David Bateson Confirmed For ‘Hitman: Absolution’
  |  @   |

For some reason earlier in production, developer IO Interactive had decided that they were not going to use actor David Bateson to voice the role of Agent 47 in the upcoming fifth game in the franchise, Hitman: Absolution. Bateson had voiced the main character since the series’ first game back in 2000.

Now comes word that, after a lengthy search for a new voice actor, that developer IO Interactive has ultimately decided to go back to Bateson for the job. In addition to Bateson, William Mapother (LOST) has handled the motion capture performance of 47.

Talking about their decision to remain with Bateson, brand director Jon Brooke said:

“IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and, like all long running relationships, sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get.”

Other actors involved with Hitman: Absolution include Marsha Thomason, Keith Carradine, Vivica Fox, Shannyn Sossamon, and Powers Boothe.

The game will be released on November 20, 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

  1. If Ubisoft only did the same thing with Sam Fisher. No disrespect to the new guy, but they could have kept Michael Ironside on as the voice and the new fellow for the motion capture.
