Mondo Artists Honoring Universal Horror Monsters With New Art Gallery
  |  @   |

Almost every movie poster aficionado knows that Mondo is the definitive source for original and one-of-a-kind art pieces. Many have had the good fortune of purchasing these pieces to hang on their walls, and those lucky enough to live in Austin, Texas have been treated to free posters at the Alamo Drafthouse. They also honor their artists by holding art galleries. So to commemorate the most terrifying season for film, Mondo is holding a very special Horror-themed art gallery.

Artists like Laurent Durieux, Francesco Francavila, and Ken Taylor will be on hand to provide some of their interpretations of the iconic Universal Horror monsters. Check out all the specs and pricing here below, along with images of some of the posters.

Durieux, who has created pieces for films like The Iron Giant and King Kong, is responsible for The Mummy piece. Sized at 24″ x 36″, The Mummy will be an edition of 400, and it will go for $50.

The Invisible Man by Francavila, will be an edition of 405 and it will cost you around $45.

Finally, Taylor, a regular illustrator for bands like Bon Iver, Pearl Jam, and Phish, is the artist behind the new The Creature From The Black Lagoon piece. Although it will be an edition of 430, it will cost $50 to purchase one.

Don’t worry, this is just a small selection of artists participating in this wonderful event. There will be pieces from Martin Ansin, Rick Baker, Jason Edmiston, JC Richard, Drew Struzan, and Kevin Tong. Their respective pieces will probably be priced the same as the aforementioned artists. So even though they are a bit pricey, you will own a genuine poster that has received Mondo’s stamp of approval. The event runs from October 19 through November 10.
