‘Now You See Me’ Trailer: Jesse Eisenberg Uses Magic To Steal Money From The Rich & Give To The Poor
  |  @   |

The thing with magic is that the magician has a lot of distractions up his sleeve, so you end up focusing on one thing when you should be paying attention to the other. It’s all fun and games, but when the trick consists of Robin Hood-esque magicians stealing from a heavily fortified bank and giving its money back to the audience members, you really might want to pay attention.

The first trailer for Now You See Me, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, and Dave Franco, is now on line. Check it out here below.

The film is more of an action-adventure heist that uses practical magic tricks as well as some help with computer-generated visuals. A lot of genres are mixed into this one film, but I am sure that the magic aspect of it will be the thing to draw audiences in. But overall it looks like a lot of fun, especially if you are into magic and heists.

In the film, The Four Horsemen (Eisenberg, Fisher, Harrelson, Franco) perform the world’s greatest magic act, sending a member of the audience across the ocean to a bank in France, then they steal all the cash, then they give it all back to their audience. All of this done in just a blink of an eye. The FBI catches on to this act and its top agent (Ruffalo) tries to figure out how they did it before they can do it again.

Directed by Louis Letterier (Clash of the Titans), Now You See Me also stars Melanie Laurent, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman. The film, which has seen many release date changes, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 7, 2013.

Here is the official plot for Now You See Me:

The Four Horsemen, a magic super-group led by the charismatic ATLAS (Jesse Eisenberg), perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience members’ bank accounts.

FBI Special Agent DYLAN (Mark Ruffalo) is determined to make the magicians pay for their crimes””and to stop them before they pull off what promises to be an even more audacious heist. But he’s forced to partner with ALMA (Melanie Laurent), an Interpol detective about whom he is instantly suspicious. Out of desperation he turns to THADDEUS (Morgan Freeman), a famed magic debunker, who claims the bank heist was accomplished using disguises and video trickery. One thing Dylan and Alma agree on is that the Horsemen must have an outside point person, and that finding him (or her) is key to ending the magicians’ crime spree. Could it be Thaddeus? Or Alma? Or could it really be”¦magic?

As pressure mounts and the world awaits the Horsemen’s spectacular final trick, Dylan and Alma race to find an answer. But it soon becomes painfully clear that staying one step ahead of these masters of illusion is beyond the skills of any one man””or woman.

So what do you think?

  2. The plot sounds kinda unbelievable. What is a “magic debunker” anyway? I’ve heard of a psychic debunker but not a magic debunker. By the way, the magicians can’t give the bank money “back” to the audience, since it was never theirs in the first place. Money in a bank belongs to the bank’s account holders.
