Will Smith and Jaden Smith Survive In First Trailer For M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘After Earth’

The first trailer for director M. Night Shyamalan‘s latest effort, After Earth, has been released online.

The movie stars Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith, whose ship crash lands on the planet Earth a thousand years from now when people don’t inhabit it anymore and everything else on the planet has evolved to kill humans, leaving the pair in for a dangerous fight for survival.

You can watch the first trailer for After Earth below.

The movie looks like it may have potential, but the major wild card, of course, is Shyamalan. We haven’t heard much from him since the Roland Emmerich-level disasterwork that was his adaptation of The Last Airbender. Can he rebound and recapture his Sixth Sense and Signs days, or will this just be another step toward the proverbial cliff?

This is the second movie taking place on an Earth we the human race no longer resides on. The other being Tom Cruise’s latest, Oblivion, which we got our first trailer for a couple of days ago.
