While the movie might be good or bad, this trailer does nothing to forward either argument. Typical fade-in, fade-out quick cut cliche. Nothing innovative or visionary here. Just heaps of special effects and bad let’s-go-get-’em dialog. If Del Toro has indeed made a fanboy wet dream, you would only know from the basic premise, not from any promise of true awesomeness. I’ve seen much much better trailers for far less interesting movies.

I’m not a fan of the designs shown thus far for the mechs – I seriously would not have minded if they had swiped from Evangelion for a leaner & more bio-mech visualization.
