Must Watch: First Trailer For Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’

The first trailer for Guillermo del Toro‘s highly anticipated blockbuster, Pacific Rim, has finally been released online.

The movie features massive human-piloted robots trying to take out equally massive monsters who are causing immense damage wherever they go. It stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman, and hits theaters on July 13, 2013.

  2. While the movie might be good or bad, this trailer does nothing to forward either argument. Typical fade-in, fade-out quick cut cliche. Nothing innovative or visionary here. Just heaps of special effects and bad let’s-go-get-’em dialog. If Del Toro has indeed made a fanboy wet dream, you would only know from the basic premise, not from any promise of true awesomeness. I’ve seen much much better trailers for far less interesting movies.

    We are already dead. We are Robot Jox!

    I’m not a fan of the designs shown thus far for the mechs – I seriously would not have minded if they had swiped from Evangelion for a leaner & more bio-mech visualization.
