| ‘Mafia 2’ Developer Announces ‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance’ For PC, Next-Gen Consoles; Trailer Released
Last year (for a few more hours anyway), we shared with you a tech demo for a next-gen medieval RPG being developed by Warhorse Studios, a Czech company founded in 2011 by people who worked on both Mafia and Mafia 2 and other gamemakers. The demo was shown when the game was in the early stages of development, and very little existed apart from some settings to look at at the time. It took a while, but Warhorse has finally made this game official, with the announcement of a title, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, a release window, and the game’s first teaser trailer. You can find more info on the game and check out the trailer below.

For some of us, James Gunn‘s the Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most anticipated films of 2013. We’ve seen somewhat of an evolution of the five heroes that make up the group of interstellar convicts. But hours before we ring in the new year, Disney released a Motion Pictures’ slate for their upcoming 2014 release schedule. In it was the first official image from the film featuring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista as Star Lord, Gamora, and Drax The Destroyer respectively. Also included in the image are Rocket Raccon and Groot, who will be voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. The image may be familiar to a few of us since it’s pulled from the footage that was seen at the San Diego Comic-Con and D23 expo earlier this year. But for those who haven’t seen it, you can check it out plus read the synopsis of the film below.

I’m glad that we are getting The Raid 2: Berandal. For me, it’s great to finally see that Indonesian Cinema can share a spot alongside other great movies during film festivals like Sundance Film Festival or Toronto International Film Festival. And with the film making its big screen debut in just a few weeks at Sundance, fans are eagerly awaiting to see what will happen to the film’s hero, Rama (Iko Uwais), after his crew was decimated trying to raid a 30 apartment building occupied by drug lords, thieves, and criminals. And maybe some electric action scenes too. The sequel will find Rama infiltrating the same crime ring and getting caught in between two crime families who are fighting over control over the city of Jakarta. Unlike the first trailer which featured Uwais punching the wall at a furious pace, this trailer has new footage, and shows the war between the two families and how far Rama must go to take them down. Hit the jump to see the full trailer.

| Indie ‘Star Trek’ Film ‘Axanar’ Beams Up In 2014 |

Since the last official Star Trek series launched (2001’s Star Trek: Enterprise), at least a dozen independent fan-made projects have cropped up online. The democratization of video production –and in particular, DIY visual effects– has been responsible for allowing the homebrew Trekker to continue the ongoing missions of the Enterprise in live-action web series, podcasts, machinima, animation, and with productions spanning the globe from the US to England, Scotland, Belgium and The Netherlands. The latest project on the horizon is Star Trek: Axanar, the brainchild of writer/producer Alec Peters (with help from VFX wizard Christian Gossett). It takes place in the year 2245, 21 years before the events of Star Trek: The Original Series. The story involves Starfleet Captain Kelvar Garth of Izar, one of Captain Kirk’s personal heroes, who would later betray Kirk in the TOS episode “Whom Gods Destroy.” Axanar tells the tale of Captain Garth’s victory at the Battle of Axanar, a decisive battle in the Four Years War against the Klingons. Amongst the stars of Axanar are Battlestar Galactica‘s Richard Hatch, Alien Nation‘s Gary Graham, and JG Hertzler, who has previously played Klingon Martok on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Continue below to for more info and to see some VFX shots.

Each and every week, I, “I was Naughty” Henchman 21, and “I was Nice” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week December 31, 2013. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. Well, we’re back after a nice holiday break, and once again we’re ready to bring you a hot stack of comics to pick up this week. It’s been a pretty wild couple of weeks so we’re going to play a little catch up today with books that you may have missed while we were gone. Also, remember that comics are out a day early this week because of the New Year’s holiday, so if you’re planning to go to your local store on Wednesday (New Year’s Day), double check that they won’t be closed that day. And if they are open that day, maybe bring them a little bit of hangover food and remember to use your indoor voice, because they may be a little worn out from partying. So, without further ado, it’s time to let old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind, because it’s time for The GoD List!
