Titan Books Launches New Comic Book Imprint Titan Comics

Titan Books is no stranger to the world of publishing, releasing many titles since they opened in 1981. Titan has released many collections of U.S. comic books for the British market, but they announced this week that they are expanding their comics publishing with the launch of Titan Comics. Titan Comics will continue the company’s tradition of collecting older material in graphic novel form, but will also be adding all-new series to their publishing schedule.

The new imprint will launch in July 2013 with two creator-owned series and four new collections. The series will be Chronos Commandos: Dawn Patrol, written and drawn by Stuart Jennett and Thrud the Barbarian, by writer/artist Carl Critchlow. The collections will be Numbercruncher from Si Spurrier (writer of the new X-Men: Legacy series), Ring of Roses by writer Das Petrou and art by John Watkiss, and a couple of never before published volumes of The First Kingdom by John Katz.

From there, Titan will launch a new series every month, with titles such as Gravestown by Roger Gibson and Vince Danks, Surface Tension by Jay Gunn, and Death Sentence by Monty Nero and Mike Dowling coming out later in the year. These will all be joined by plenty of reprints of other classic material in what Titan describes as “lovingly-produced volumes.”

Nick Landau, Publisher of Titan Comics, had this to say of the new line: “This is the start of something very special. We’re searching out fantastic new voices and astonishing new artists, and helping them bring their dream projects to fruition – as well as remaining a world-leader in the field of classic comics restoration and republication.”

According to the company, each new release will also be available to read day and date on the iPhone, iPad, Web, Android, and Kindle Fire.
