Tim Hortons Creates “The Priestley” Donut From ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Canada Episode
  |  @   |

The famous Canadian eatery Tim Hortons played a big role in last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother, where Barney goes to Canada to talk to Robin’s past boyfriends to find out who she was obsessed with in her past. Each ex he talks with seems more fixated on the free Tim Hortons donuts Barney is offering than with reminiscing about Robin. Eventually, Barney gets his hands on an installment of Underneath The Tunes — Canada’s supposed answer to VH1’s Behind The Music — that exposes a dark period from Robin’s years as the Canadian teen musical sensation Robin Sparkles.

In the Underneath The Tunes segment, several famous Canadians are interviewed regarding Robin’s historic transition in the 1990s from happy go lucky teeny bopper Robin Sparkles to scorned stalker goth-grunge chick Robin Daggers. Rush’s Geddy Lee, K.D. Lang, Paul Shaffer, and Jeopardy host Alex Trebek all recall which Tim Hortons they were in and which donut they were eating when Robin made her outrageous public shift and “lost it.”

90210 alum Jason Priestley said he was at a Tim Hortons in Squamish, British Columbia, where he crammed a Timbit into a strawberry vanilla and invented “The Priestley.” The fast-food chain was so excited to be featured in the episode that they were inspired today to actually create “The Priestley”!

Here’s what the Tim Hortons’ official Twitter accounted posted today:

The news sure made Jason Priestley happy (and who could blame him!)…

I’ve never been to a Tim Hortons before, but it seems like they are similar to Dunkin’ Donuts here in the United States. And let me tell you, if Dunkin’ created The Empress (a star-shaped vanilla cream-filled donut with vanilla frosting & purple, white, and black star-shaped sugar sprinkles, and whipped cream on top!) after me, I’d be happy as hell!!!
