‘Rampage’ Scribe Ryan Engle To Rewrite Script For ‘Ben 10’ Feature Film

Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 is probably one of the ripest animated series that could be adapted into a feature-length film. Since its debut back in 2005, the show would eventually spawn three spinoff series, five made-for-TV films, and hoards of merchandise that is not limited to toys, video games, and t-shirts. Now it has reached the peak: a full-length feature film. The franchise has finally found its screenwriter to adapt a screenplay for its first ever film.

THR reports that Ryan Engle has been tasked with adapting the screenplay for the film. He’ll be working on a draft that was previously written by Albert Torres (Henry Poole Is Here). Engle’s name may sound unfamiliar due to the fact that his script On A Clear Day was on the infamous Black List. That was his ticket into some bigger titles as he has since been penning the scripts for New Line’s adaptation of the Rampage video game and New Regency’s The New West, based on a comic from Black Bull Media.

For those that may not know what or who Ben 10 is, the series started out with a young boy named Ben Tennyson who comes to acquire a watch-like device called the omnitrix. Unable to take the watch off, Ben discovers that it has the ability to give him ten different alien forms, which he uses to stop crime and alien invasions.

Cartoon Network is financing the project which has yet to find a studio to distribute.
