For the past six years, writer/artist Ryan Browne has been hard at work creating one of the most fun, unique, and critically acclaimed web comics out there, God Hates Astronauts. And now it’s finally finished and ready to be delivered right to your door as a fancy 180-page hardcover collection, after a Kickstarter campaign to secure the funding necessary to actually print it.
Not satisfied with just sending his already done files off to the printer, Browne has went back and make some coloring tweaks and BRAND NEW lettering. He also got some fantastic creators to draw 18 two page origin stories for some of the characters in the book. Artists like Tim Seeley, Jenny Frison, Tradd Moore, Christopher Mitten, Zandor Cannon…the list goes on and on.

The best part about this Kickstarter is that the book is DONE. So, unlike some projects on Kickstarter, you won’t have to wait for Browne to complete anything else, the book will simply go to print and you’ll have it very shortly. Ryan has also set up some fantastic pledge AND stretch level goals; he’s being very generous with both his time and God Hates Astronauts merchandise. You can walk away with some really cool one of a kind stuff!
I couldn’t end this article without some actual information on the material itself. This book is one of the most messed up comics that you’ll ever read. And it’s one of the most fun. Aside from several laugh out loud moments, this is entertaining on SO MANY levels. It’s literally got something for every comic book fan, and even better, you can give this book to people who don’t normally read comics and they will LOVE IT. Be warned, this book is not for younger readers at all, but beyond that, it’s one of the most entertaining and enjoyable comics that I’ve ever read in my 30+ years of reading comics. I highly, highly recommend that you support Ryan Browne and his awesome comic!
