A pair of high-profile actors are looking to join the cast of Seth MacFarlane‘s upcoming western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, a sequel to his hit comedy Ted.
Taken and The Grey star Liam Neeson has entered into negotiations for a role in the movie, and Avatar and Saving Private Ryan star Giovanni Ribisi is already locked in to play one of the characters.
The movie follows a sheep farmer named Albert who cowards out of a duel, leading his girlfriend to leave him. When an outlaw’s wife comes into town, Albert enlists her help in teaching him how to be less of a coward…lesson’s he’ll need to use when her outlaw husband returns seeking revenge.
MacFarlane will be playing Albert, with Amanda Seyfried set to play the girlfriend who leaves him and Charlize Theron is currently set to play the outlaw’s wife.
Neeson would be playing Theron’s outlaw husband, and, as any fan of Family Guy who’s seen a particular cutaway joke will tell you, it would easily be the best casting choice made for this movie.
Ribisi, who also starred in Ted, will play Albert’s best friend Edward, a shoe repairman whose wife—a prostitute—won’t have sex with him.

This is not the sequel to TED. It’s just what’s next for MacFarlane’s director resume. It’s a follow up. Not related to TED.
