Today marks the birthday of author Douglas Adams, best known for his humorous science fiction books, most notably The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In honor of the late author, who would have been 61, Google has posted an interactive Doodle on their home page today, March 11, 2012.
The interactive Doodle incorporates items from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, including the famed guide itself, and if you click through in the right places, you’ll get the whole story! Click on the objects in the doodle on Google‘s homepage to see everything in action. Be sure to turn up the sound! Below is a video that shows all the interactions, in case you miss any.
If you haven’t read any Douglas Adams, all his stuff is great, but definitely start out with The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (available in paperback and for Kindle) or if you’re feeling adventurous and want to save money in the long run, get the entire 5-book series, The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, available in one Paperback collection for only $11.49 or for the Kindle for only $12.99.
