Ken Wantabe, the star of such movies as Batman Begins, Inception, and The Last Samurai, is the latest to join the cast of Godzilla, a reboot of the classic monster movie.

The movie is being directed by Gareth Edwards, who also made the 2010 indie thriller Monsters, and also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, and David Strathairn.

Nothing is known yet about the reboot and whether the classic premise used in the original 1954 Japanese film Gojira will be once again used here.

The screenplay is written by Max Borenstein, Dave Callahan, and Frank Darabont.

Principle photography for Godzilla began this week, and the movie is currently scheduled to be released on May 16, 2014.
