AMC Considering ‘Breaking Bad’ Spinoff Series
  |  @   |

Fans of the hit AMC original series Breaking Bad are surely devastated to see it getting ready to enter its eighth and final season. But it appears that the series finale might not be the end…at least not for one of the characters you’ve come to know over the course of the show’s five-year run.

According to a new report, AMC and producer Sony TV are currently pondering a possible spinoff series that would focus on the character Saul Goodman. Saul, played by Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show with Bob and David), is a flamboyant criminal lawyer who first appeared in season two of the show in an episode titled “Better Call Saul.”

The potential show is being conceived by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and writer/producer Peter Gould, and it would be a comedy with both hour or half-hour episode lengths being explored.

This is not the first time the spin-off has been discussed, either. Gilligan did an interview with Indiewire last year said this:

“I would love to see a Saul Goodman spinoff. I like the idea of a lawyer show in which the main lawyer will do anything it takes to stay out of a court of law. He’ll settle on the courthouse steps, whatever it takes to stay out of the courtroom. That would be fun “” I would like that.”

Again, the spinoff is only in the earliest stages of consideration, so there’s still a long way to go before we know whether it will get a chance or not.

So how about it, Breaking Bad fans, would you want to see a comedy spinoff revolving around Saul Goodman?
