A trio of actors have signed on to star in a new Screen Gems exorcism thriller titled Beware the Night, which is set to be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer‘s production company.
The movie will star Eric Bana (Hanna, Troy), Olivia Munn (Magic Mike, The Newsroom), and Edgar Ramirez (Domino, The Bourne Ultimatum). Bana will play a cop who’s working on a case when a renegade priest (played by Ramirez) convinces him that there’s a demonic element involved, leading them to team up and fight whatever paranormal forces are causing problems. Munn will play Bana’s wife, who’s somehow also tied to the case.
Beware the Night will be directed by Scott Derrickson, who will also write the screenplay with his Exorcism of Emily Rose partner Paul Boardman. Derrickson was also behind the 2012 horror Sinister, and is working on an adaptation of the video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
It’s not yet clear if this or Deus Ex or something else is next in line for Derrickson. No official release date has been set for Beware the Night.
