‘Ender’s Game’ Trailer: The Unfilmable Sci-Fi Story Finally Gets Big Screen Adaptation
  |  @   |

Nearly 20 years after Orson Scott Card‘s novel was first published, an adaptation of Ender’s Game is finally hitting the big screen. For a long time, Card had believed that the book was “unfilmable” not because of the amount of violence depicted, but because it all took place in Ender’s head. But the film’s first trailer has appeared online, and so far, it looks like it’s not living up to Card’s statements.

Whether or not this trailer will please or anger fans certainly remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, Ender’s Game looks like it will please a new generation of sci-fi fans. Hit the jump to see the new trailer.

Having seen the trailer a couple of times to digest what I have seen, there is a lot to like about this trailer. I love the wide shots in this trailer, it give us an idea of just how massive director Gavin Hood wants to to perceive this world. Then there are those couple of seconds involving the gravity defying battle simulation room.

Asa Butterfield plays the titular character who is destined to lead humanity to winning the war against the alien threat. But that is not all, Butterfield has an Oscar-caliber supporting cast behind him to help him along every step of the way. The film also stars Ben Kingsley, Hailee Steinfeld, Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, and Abigail Breslin.

Ender’s Game opens in theaters on November 1.
