Dear Listeners,

This will be the final episode of Skull-Face Island. As much as we’ve enjoyed recording the podcast every week, we’re unable to sustain the level of production necessary to continue the show. Tim, David, and myself wanted to create a movie podcast that wasn’t just three fanboys nit-picking movies over Skype, and I think we definitely succeeded in delivering something nontraditional.

The inspiration for Skull-Face Island came from television shows like Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Pee-Wee’s Playhouse as well as podcasts like WrestleCrap Radio and Comedy Bang! Bang! We decided that, if we committed to doing a movie podcast, we wanted to frame it within an alternate universe and incorporate elements of old time radio dramas.

Unfortunately, we may have been too ambitious in designing a show with such high production value. We’ve struggled in recent weeks to stay organized and schedule screenings and recording sessions, and as we incorporated more characters and audio theatre elements, it became more and more difficult to produce the show and edit it in an efficient manner.

So, it is with heavy hearts that we must discontinue the podcast – but we didn’t want to end without some sort of conclusion. We felt that, doing another standard “news-review-game” episode wasn’t the proper way to sendoff our beloved creation, so we wrote a definitive end to the show for those (like us) who need closure.

We would like to thank everyone to has listened to our little podcast and supported the show by sharing it with friends. Thanks to the amazing Moriah Geer-Hardwick for creating the awesome Skull-Face Island logo and other original illustrations. Thanks to Mike Tangalakis for our theme song and additional music used on the show, as well as Andy and Jessica Eppler, The Prairie Scholars, who created the Tu’Challa theme song.

Also, thanks to guest star Sean O’Connell for making our Best of 2012 Episodes (#25-#28) some of our most popular episodes, as well as Field Cantey, who voiced The Native Chief. Finally, thanks to Empress Eve, Dave3, and everyone at Geeks of Doom for giving us the opportunity to try something different and help us with all the logistics of file formats and publishing the show on the iTunes store.

Thanks for listening! We’ll see ya in another life, brotha!
