While not the most box office successful movie, Robert Rodriguez‘s From Dusk Till Dawn achieved cult status, and because of it, it will be going from the big screen to your TV, and I don’t mean an edited version of the film.
It’s being reported that the film is being adapted into a televised series under the El Rey Network Banner, which also happens to be Rodriguez’s latest creation, and owned by Univision. The English language Station will launch later this year, with From Dusk Till Dawn and another untitled show produced by Star Trek Into Darkness scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
It’s not known how exactly the film will be adapted into a series, but given that the film has expanded by releasing two direct-to-DVD films, there are plenty of stories to tell. But one of the pinnacle plot reveals that could give us a hint as to what to expect in the series came towards the very end of From Dusk Till Dawn, where Seth Gecko (George Clooney) and Kate Fuller (Juliette Lewis) leave a bar after surviving a terrifying night fighting off vampires, we see the camera pulling away to reveal that there is a occult pyramid built behind the bar, and a truck like graveyard. It should be interesting to see which direction the now turned TV series will head towards.
What do you think? Does From Dusk Till Dawn deserve a TV series?
