The James Bond 24 rumor mill continues to grow more and more. Last week, most of the attention for Bond 24 was centered on the return of director Sam Mendes. Reports had the filmmaker returning for back-to-back directorial efforts. Despite the workload that nearly forced him out of the director’s chair, there are strong indications that he will return for at least one more. With the possibility of one thing being out of the way, attention is now turned to casting.
Rumor has it that Penelope Cruz is in talks to play the female lead in Bond 24.
The film isn’t due out in theaters until sometime in 2015, so it is way too early to tell if Yahoo UK’s report has any sort of validity to it. An unnamed source told the site that producers have been trying to get Cruz to be a part of a Bond film for quite some time, only failing to do so because the actress had prior commitments. We’ll have to see if everything falls into place, and if it does, she would follow her husband, Javier Bardem, who played the villain in Skyfall. But even if it doesn’t work out, rest assure, there will be lady swooning over agent 007.
