Bruce Willis Says He’s Bored With Action Movies But Still Wants To Star In Them
  |  @   |

Maybe Bruce Willis was on to something when he wanted to get paid a million dollars for every day he would be on set for The Expendables 3. Sure it may have sounded greedy at first, but his recent comments on the action film genre hints at how fatigued he may be with starring in so many action films.

While he may have starred in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and A Good Day To Die Hard, both of which did modestly well at the box office, RED 2 has yet to gross $100 million worldwide.

In a recent interview with The Mirror, here’s what Willis said about the job description:

“Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job. When you have seen a few fireballs, it’s not exciting anymore.

I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, megaprojects, medium-sized, even science fiction.”

While the latter part of the statement is referring to films like Moonrise Kingdom and Looper, it doesn’t help that his IMDb page says that he will be in films like American Assassin, Expiration, and the highly rumored Die Hard 6.

So while we do see inklings of Willis trying new things, Willis being attached to more action films than the films he wants to do will only contribute to his misery. He is obviously tired of doing the same tired thing over and over again, and it’s not his fault for asking for a little bit more money for something that he is just not motivated to do any more.

But I think his performances in Moonrise Kingdom and Looper should be enough for filmmakers to make him offers of the indie variety.
