Disney In Depth: D23 Expo Disney Consumer Products (Star Wars, Muppets and Marvel)
  |  @   |

D23 Expo 2013 may have concluded, but the fresh content releasing from the ultimate Disney event keeps on coming! Peek into Disney Consumer Products’ pavilion with me as I explore the cool exhibits featuring some of Disney’s most awesome acquisitions – Star Wars, Muppets, and Marvel!

Marvel’s Captain America existed in multiple areas, not only limited to the Disney Consumer Products section. A real-life superhero version of Steve Rogers saluted spectators in the Journey Into Imagineering pavilion, as seen above, but Captain America-themed products were also on display in Consumer Products.

Even everyone’s favorite felt-covered friends, The Muppets, made a splash at D23 Expo. Though this was the first expo for Kermit The Frog to not come out in person during the Studios events, his adoring fans demonstrated their take on the amphibian’s famous pals by participating in a huge artistic display. The massive chalkboard allowed all to craft versions on characters like Fozzie Bear and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, with the help of some how-to-draw “guides.” I aimed to do Beaker justice, even if he looked a little distorted in my final version. Then again, the unfortunate meeping Muppet never seems to keep his head on straight. You decide.

Marvel experienced its most substantial presence yet at D23 Expo, as numerous types of products, from apparel to children’s toys, occupied much space in its special area of the Consumer Products pavilion.

LEGO brings Thor: The Dark World to store shelves with its new line of goodies, while children can dress up as Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, and others with accessories and wow-worthy gadgets. Additionally, Marvel staged major components of The Walt Disney Studios arena events at D23 Expo, as new footage of both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: The Dark World premiered to thrilled audiences.

The Darth Vader: Evolution of a Villain exhibit gave attendees the opportunity to glimpse into the history behind the vile villain, via loads of concept art and information adorning the walls. Toys and products from the Star Wars universe covered the area, figuratively taking guests to fantastical worlds from the comfort of the D23 Expo.
