Rumor: Rachel Hurd-Wood and Alex Pettyfer Eyeing Roles In ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’
  |  @   |

The Star Wars: Episode VII casting process is secretive in many ways. For one thing, revealing the roles has the potential to be a huge spoiler. Recently we have been given a slight idea of who may be in the film with the recent reports saying that Emperor Palpatine and Obi-Wan Kenobi would return as force ghosts have surfaced.

Now a new report has pegged two actors auditioning for the role of the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII. According to LatinoReview, Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan) is in talks to play Princess Leia’s daughter, while Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike) is up for a unknown role.

According to their sources, Hurd-Wood is not the only one auditioning for the role. There are other unnamed actresses who are also vying for it as well. As to who Pettyfer could be playing, the site thinks that he could be auditioning for the role of Skywalker’s son, since Ryan Gosling passed on the role.

While the story, written by Toy Story 3 scribe Michael Ardnt, will be an original, it will take place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi.

Lastly, it is being reported that LucasFilms will make a major announcement in the very near future, perhaps as soon as today.

So what are your thoughts?

  1. I hope this is false. Pettyfer can’t act. I think you can do better than Rachel Hurd-Wood as well.

  2. Just being fair here, but most of the cast of all six Star Wars films can’t/couldn’t act.

  3. I would say it has more to do with Lucas’s scripts than acting ability. Natalie Portman was somewhat wooden in the PT, but is she a bad actress? No.

  4. I haven’t seen any film that Pettyfer did that can be considered good acting.
