‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ Pushed Back From 2015 To 2016
  |  @   |

The summer of 2015 is shaping up to be one of the biggest summers in movie history, with movies like Star Wars Episode VII, The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, Batman vs. Superman, Ant-Man, Terminator 5, Assassin’s Creed, and many others expected to be released. Jurassic Park IV—now officially titled Jurassic Worldjust joined the party as well.

The summer is so crowded, other big franchises are taking a step back. The fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, officially titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, was also scheduled for a summer 2015 release, but Disney has decided to push it back to 2016 instead.

Considering Disney also has the aforementioned Star Wars and Marvel flicks coming out, as well as Pixar’s Finding Dory later in the year in November, it makes all the sense in the world to try and get the early jump on 2016.

That said, the problem is said to be with the script and not necessarily the busy ’15 season. According to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, they have an outline in place that everyone loves, but the script is not ready apart from that. And after the disaster that was The Lone Ranger, Disney and Bruckheimer understandably don’t want to see that happen again.
