The previous epic story from Thor: God of Thunder was one of the surprise hits of the Marvel Universe. The two story arcs were The God Butcher and The God Bomb and these two runs are must-reads for both Thor fans and fans of fantasy storytelling. That story has ended and the next story arc from the creative team of writer Jason Aaron and artist Ron Garney promises to be even more fantastical with many of the tropes of traditional fantasy stories, including dragons coming more into play. The new story, which just began in issue #13 titled the Accursed, promises the return of one of Thor’s most powerful enemies, Malekith!
We have for your perusal from Marvel some early images from the forthcoming Thor God of Thunder #14! Check out the preview here below.
The approach to the art in this run is much different than the previous low detail but more painterly style of The God Butcher and The God Bomb. The new art style seems a little more steeped in traditional fantasy comics which should fit the story that Marvel has promised. Scroll on down and have a look for yourself and tell us what you think.
That Thor looks like he could handle himself in a fight which is a lot more than I can say for Hemsworth who looks more like he should be on a fashion runway.

Has anyone ever done a ‘real wold’ look at Super Hero weapons ?? Look at Thor and that huge hammer smashing skulls, Wolverines slashing claws, Hulks body mashing super strength….. Marvel should be painted with ‘pages of red Goo” !!
