New R-Rated Animated Comedy ‘Sausage Party’ From Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg On The Way
  |  @   |

A raunchy new R-rated animated comedy is on the way from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the duo who have worked together on numerous projects, including Superbad and Pineapple Express, which they wrote together, and This Is The End, which they wrote and directed together.

The new movie is titled Sausage Party, and will follow a sausage who falls out of a shopping cart at the grocery store and must set off on a journey with some new friends to get back to their places in the store before a 4th of July sale starts, all while also determined to discover the truth of his existence.

Rogen and Goldberg wrote the screenplay for the movie along with
Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, and it will be directed by Rogen’s Monsters vs. Aliens director Conrad Vernon. Vernon also directed Shrek 2 and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, and has done a bunch of voice acting (he’s the Gingerbread Man in the Shrek movies).

Producers include Rogen, Goldberg, Vernon, and Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison (who’s partnering with Sony Pictures on the project), with Jonah Hill, James Weaver, Hunter, and Shaffi executive producing.

Sausage Party is aiming for a 2015 release date.
