Jimmy Fallon Challenges Keanu Reeves To Tai Chi Fight (Video)
  |  @   |

Keanu Reeves was recently on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon promoting his directorial debut, Man Of Tai Chi, in which he also stars as the villain.

First off, after Fallon introduced the actor, The Roots (the late night show’s house band), played Orleans’ “Still The One” as a nod to his character Neo from The Matrix. Reeves seemed amused and possibly surprised by this intro.

Reeves went on to discuss his new film, which was shown at a few of this year’s film festivals and is currently available On Demand. The movie involves underground fighting using a style of Tai Chi, with one fight scene involving a neck tie. Fallon said he came up with a way to defend himself in a battle like that, so he asked Reeves to attack him.

Check out the video here below of the interview and the “fight” scene.

By the way, I got to see Man Of Tai Chi and I highly enjoyed it, especially the lead role of Tiger Chen (who is a stuntman and friend of Reeves in real life). Although I was under the impression initially that it was just about underground fighting competitions, it becomes clear early on that this movie is about much more – it’s got a lot of heart. While I didn’t particularly love Reeves as the villain (I like him too much to see him like that) and felt his acting was deliberately stiff, he did do a great job directly. I highly recommend you check out Man Of Tai Chi On Demand and/or when it comes to theaters on November 1, 2013.
