Today, November 5, 2013, sees the release of Lita Ford‘s new release The Bitch Is Back…Live, a 12-song live album recorded at a show at Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA in early October 2012, available now on CD and MP3. The CD is an “AutoRip,” which means with your physical copy, you’ll also get a FREE MP3 download of the entire album.

If you want to check out the album right now, Yahoo! Music is streaming all 12 songs online for free! Check out the audio embed of the album here below and take a listen.

If you’re not familiar with Ford, she got her start as a teenager in the all-girl 1970’s hard rock band The Runaways (along with bandmates Joan Jett and Cherrie Currie), popular for their hit “Cherry Bomb.” Once the ’80s came, the lead guitarist went solo, taking center stage on guitar and vocals becoming more popular with the metal scene. In 1988, she got her big breakthrough with the album Kiss Me Deadly, which had hits like the title track and her duet with Ozzy Osbourne “Close My Eyes Forever.” A few more albums followed, but in the mid-1990s, when most of her peers found themselves replaced on the music charts by grunge and the like, Ford took time off from music to raise her two sons. In 2009, she made her musical comeback and has been rocking it on the road every since! Go, Lita!!!

The Bitch Is Back…Live is a great live record, so definitely check it out while it’s streaming for free and then be sure to support it by buying your own copy! When you hear those shredding solos – that’s Lita right there. There’s no man in the band who steps up and does it, it’s all her. She’s a musician who deserves more attention and respect for her guitar playing. She’s one of my favorite guitarists and hands down is the best female lead guitarist ever. I highly recommend this one.
