‘Machete Kills Again…In Space!’ Trailer Features Machete, Killing, and Lots Of Space
  |

If you happened to catch Machete Kills during its brief theatrical run (and few did – $13.5 million in worldwide box office and it opened at #4 behind Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 in its third week) you might have noticed a “Grindhouse”-style fake trailer for a planned third installment of Robert Rodriguez‘ Tex-Mex action series starring Danny Trejo as a pissed-off former Federale who kills bad people with really sharp objects playing before and after the flick.

Now that trailer has been released online, and you can check out the deranged glory of Machete Kills Again…In Space! here below.

The faux preview is by its lonesome pretty amusing and a bit cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, but if you watched the entirety of Machete Kills you’ll know that it ends with a cliffhanger that was supposed to lead into the …In Space! sequel. Much like God and Satan, one can’t really exist without the other. In this trailer we get Trejo wielding a laser machete, Michelle Rodriguez and her awesome eye patch rocking a jet pack, Justin Bieber (sort of) as a short bus cousin of Twiki, Lady Gaga being whoever the hell she wants to be, and a villain in a silver mask played by a huge star subject to change. That’s just for starters.

Machete Kills Again…In Space! will open in theaters…possibly never. Don’t hold your breath for what could be the Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League of the Millennial Generation. Maybe Rodriguez could get a Kickstarter going so he can complete the Machete trilogy in grand scale. “It’s all…galactic and s**t!”
